MOULTRIE I-40 INFRARED
DAY/NIGHT TRAIL CAMERA

For the 2007 pre-season and during the season I wanted to be able to get some images of deer in the areas I hunt, mainly to see what deer were in the area and what times they were moving. Basically a scouting tool. Another reason is I just wanted some images of deer and other critters in their natural environment, both day and night. For me a 35mm was out of the question so I required a digital camera. I also wanted, contoversy aside, infrared (IR) as opposed to a standard flash to start with as to not spook deer as much. Also I wanted decent pictures and not sell an arm or leg to buy it. Color or B&W images were of little concern to me also.

My other trail cams are an infrared model, Leaf River IR-3BU and a low resolution Stealth Cam I230 (STC-WD2.

I searched long and hard on the internet reading reviews and checking out picture quality, etc. This sounds easy but for every trail cam make and model out there, there are those who think they are the best thing since sliced bread, those who think they suck and those in the middle. I used my own judgement after reading everything I could, whether that be good or bad.

I was going to get this cam for the 2008 season but thought why not get one now being that the rut is almost here. I purchased this Moultrie from Walmart for $199.
